From Scratch to Etch

The Original Print (above) is the autumnal and leafy Oaks and Hornbeams, a unique triptych comprising three Solar Plate etchings which have been overlaid with a monotype of fallen leaves. The print can be seen as part of the From Scratch to Etch show (see below).

It is based on trees in Cherry Tree Wood, East Finchley and the etchings were produced at Print NW6 Studio, at the Kingsgate Studio workshop of Theresa Pateman while the monotype was overprinted at Avril's East Finchley studio.

Avril is delighted to be part of a group of 25 printmakers in a show of Original Prints called From Scratch to Etch, which runs 2-28 October in the Upper Gallery at Lauderdale House, Highgate, London N6 5HG.

The common thread running through the exhibition is that all participants'  work has been produced either at Theresa's Hampstead School of Art classes, or during classes and workshops at her Print NW6 Studio.
